Death Machine Final Evolution is the epitome of a home security device (with limitless applications). The latest in a series of Arduino programmed pojectile launchers, Death Machine F.E. fuses a trio of servo motors, a Nerf gun, and a makeshift control panel (two potentiometers and a push button) to ultimately perfect a pennetrating application of engineering technology. Mounting a Nerf sniper rifle on a rotating platform (bolted to a tripod) allows for a two dimensional rotational axis of over 100 degrees. This base motor is synched with a corresponding potentiometer for user control. A second servo motor was tied to one end of the platform, enabling the gun to adjust vertically for an optimal aiming experience. This servo is similarly linked to a potentiometer. The final trigger servo employs hybrid programing for an clean, smooth shot.

This is definitely my favorite TUIO project I've seen. I strongly suggest you turn off the video's sound, and turn on something like My Bloody Valentine, Boards of Canada, Nadja, Servile Sect, Ben Frost, etc. although the Masked User's actions will be incongruent with such a soundscape. OP_ERA: Sonic Dimension is an immersive and interactive installation designed as a music box.

The box is a black, open cube (three walls of 3x3m each) filled with hundreds of visually identical violin-like strings. Tuned with the specific tension, each virtual string vibrates with a visual-sound frequency (light and sound waves) that varies according to its relative position and mode of interaction.

In OP_ERA: sonic dimension there are two modes of interaction. In the first case, the input interface is a set of microphones that collect the user’s sounds. When a microphone picks up a sound, the software analyses, filters and converts it into equivalent visual outputs, frequencies vibrating as strings.

In the second case, the input interface is an array of sensors. Used to detect the user’s position this interface allows the system to interpret any action as a gravitational force. For example, when the user points to a string set, the action not only vibrates the selected strings, but it also changes the shape of space-time.

The aim of this project is to research the geometry of sonic spaces and to develop sonic interfaces.

Exhibited for the first time at bitforms gallery, Daniel Rozin's "Peg Mirror" comprises 650 circular wooden pieces that are cut on an angle. Casting shadows by twisting and rotating in unison, wooden pegs forming concentric circles surround a small central camera. The mirrored image produced in this work is activated by software authored by Rozin that processes video signals and breaks up imagery geometrically, seemingly pixel by pixel. The silently moving wood components in this piece flicker like jewels or coins in the spotlight, challenging our notions about what constitutes a "digital object".

This guy was building a robot and wanted a way that others could visually tell they were to close. He hooked a distance sensor up to an arduino and LED and went to town. Green means you are a safe distance away, yellow is a cautionary warning, a red signals the robot to move away . Here is a short youtube video of him testing it.

The WiiMote front sensor has been modified to track 532nm light, rather than the normal IR.

Software on the PC converts the information from the WiiMote into MIDI controller data - this is merged (using MIDIOX and MIDI-Yoke) with the trigger pulses coming from the harp and fed to the impOSCar synth.
